MERCEDES MARTINEZ SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDS THE WSU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST FORMER WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPION MICKIE JAMES IN HOT NYC MATCH UP!!

Last night, the Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU) World Champion Mercedes Martinez took on, and defeated one of the biggest names in the sport, recently released World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) diva, and former World Champion Mickie James. It was a classic contest that went 16 minutes, and had the explosive Queens crowd hot. During the introductions, it was quite visible who the fans that packed the Elks Lodge were rooting for, as James received easily the loudest reception of the night. Martinez would eventually win the crowd over as she overcame the former WWE diva's offense, and mounted an incredible victory.

In the opening moments of the contest, both women, highly respectful of the other, attempted to gain early advantages with basic mat wrestling, utilizing arm bars and drags. This would be the focal point of the champion's offense throughout the entire match, even later in the contest as James upped the ante with vicious forearms and kicks.

James hit her signature "Mick A Rana" from the ropes, and for a time, was able to put the champion down and nearly out of it. But it wouldn't be enough to get the three count. Frustrated, it allowed Martinez to position herself for the "Three Amigos".

On the third 'Amigo' however, James countered with her own back slide suplex, and the frustration began to take hold, as the former WWE diva threw the rule book out the window and began to violently assault the WSU Champion. It would be a strategy that ultimately fail, as Martinez has brawled with the best on the independent circuit over the past ten years. There haven't been many lingerie pillow fights or mud bowl matches during the storied career of Mercedes Martinez.

Martinez would shrug the blows off, and continue to work on the arms, and back of James, setting the tempo for the contest. A strategy that would prove to be important as James appeared winded throughout the later minutes of the bout, where Martinez' breathing was steady throughout.

There was gas in James' tank, enough to release herself from the vicious arm locks of the WSU Champion, but the tank ran dry when James attempted to mount the top rope, and found herself trapped with nowhere to turn while Martinez flew across the ring, boot high. The kick would devastate James, leaving the challenger wide open for the patented 'Fisherman's Buster'.

In a maneuver that has been the demise of many challengers, Mercedes Martinez proved once again why she is the master of her game, and the top of the heap. It almost looked easy.

After the three count, the champion thanked the challenger. Ever the consummate professional, Martinez helped James off the mat, and raised her hand. James, herself one of the classiest professionals in the game, bowed out to let Martinez soak in the adulation of the NYC crowd.
