On Friday night, 8/17, in Belleville, NJ, at an NWS show, Alexa Thatcher unseated the heavily favored WSU Womens Champion Alicia, to become the new WSU Womens Champion. This was Alicia's first WSU title defense on the road and her third title defense overall.
As a result of the win, Alexa Thatcher has signed on to fulfill all of Alicia's contractual obligations, including a WSU title defense against Talia at PWS's 9/7 event. Alexa also becomes the second ever WSU Womens Champion.
The match was approximately 9 minutes long. Alexa shockingly won the match after reversing a crucifix and pinning Alicia in the middle of the ring. After the match, Alicia flipped out and invoked her championship rematch clause. The championship rematch will take place TONIGHT, on 8/18, in Shark River, NJ at the NWS event. For complete NWS details, check out NWSWrestling.com. Should Alicia win tonight, Alicia would go back to her previously booked schedule. If Alicia does not beat Alexa by pinfall or submission, Alexa would honor all previous committments booked for the WSU Womens Champion.
The match was filmed for exclusive release for DOIVideo.com. All WSU Title matches taking place in other promotions, as the WSU title gets more notoriety and exposure will be filmed by DOIVideo.com and put on DVD.
